Young Identity – described as Manchester’s finest young spoken word performers, and welcoming 15 to 26-year-olds to the collective – is going virtual! For the first time ever, they will be slamming, jamming and having all sorts of fun online live from Contact‘s website.

Famous for their poetry showcase and slam night One Mic Stand (affectionately known as OMS), a joyously boisterous evening of poetry and music where 10 performers fill just three minutes each in an attempt to wow the audience with their “lyrical mastery and charismatic delivery”, battling it out for a grand prize.

This special online edition will feature two very special guest performers; Manchester MC, DJ, producer and all-round legend, CHUNKY and spoken word artist Nasima Bee Poet who recently performed at Chloe Foy’s sold-out homecoming gig at The Kings Arms.

These are the type of signature events that make Contact one of Manchester’s most treasured cultural organisations. We can’t wait to get back in any live venue, but with Contact closed for refurbishment for what seems like a lifetime, we’re especially excited to get in there and see what they’re up to.
