Manchester-based Box of Tricks Theatre Company, producers of SparkPlug, Plastic Figurines, In Doggerland and Narvik, will bring a world premiere, Under Three Moons to The Lowry this autumn.

Written by Daniel Kanaber, Under Three Moons is a brand new work which charts two friends’ journey from boyhood to manhood and fatherhood, and their changing relationship to each other. Tackling issues around male friendship, changing perceptions of masculinity and men’s mental health, the play opens a dialogue around often unarticulated topics.

Tackling issues around male friendship, changing perceptions of masculinity and men’s mental health.

The narrative takes place on three separate nights across thirty years of the two friends’ lives. It charts Mike and Paul on their first school trip to France as teens, to a surf shack in their twenties, to a Christmas when they are both in their thirties. Under Three Moons explores how men relate to each other today, their identity and how they choose to live.

Box of Tricks are committed to developing and producing the best new talent. Working with the next generation of playwrights, they aim to discover, nurture and promote the very best emerging writers.

The production will be directed by Box of Tricks’ Joint Artistic Director and co-founder Adam Quayle with design by the award-winning Katie Scott.
