Oldham Coliseum’s off-site season continues with The Other Neville – a bold one-woman play inspired by the life of England netball legend Tracey Neville. Written and performed by Rochdale-born actor Imogen Greenwood, this intimate production dives into the world of women’s sport with all its ambition, pressure and pride.

Set in the “locker room of her memories”, Greenwood’s character reflects on a life defined by competition – against others, against expectation, and sometimes against herself. A story of resilience, love, loss and legacy, it’s a portrait of a woman determined to carve her own name in a family of sporting greats, and in a sport long overshadowed by men’s achievements.

Told with raw honesty and sharp humour, The Other Neville captures both the adrenaline of elite sport and the personal cost of success. Greenwood’s performance balances physical energy with emotional depth, drawing on extensive research and creative collaboration with Shared Experience – a company renowned for its female-led work – to create something at once authentic and theatrical.

It’s fitting that the show forms part of Oldham Coliseum’s off-site programme – keeping theatre alive across the borough while the historic venue undergoes refurbishment ahead of its 2026 reopening. In partnership with local spaces like Oldham Library, the company continues to champion stories that connect deeply with its audiences and community.

Ambitious, heartfelt and full of fight, The Other Neville isn’t just a story about sport – it’s about identity, ambition and what it means to make your own mark in the world.
