Variety certainly is the spice of life if The Lowry’s spectacular Winter Season is anything to go by. With sensational opera, unmissable dance shows, cutting-edge contemporary productions, musical theatre and high-flying circus adventures, it’s all happening in Salford this winter.

We’re thrilled that Opera North head back to The Lowry with a fabulous and varied programme. The Leeds-based company bring a sizzling and bang-up-to-date new production of Carmen alongside a glamorous Bernstein double bill. Meanwhile, experimental storytellers – imitating the dog – head to Salford with their acclaimed version of everyone’s favourite gothic horror. Fusing live performance with digital technology, Dracula: The Untold Story visits The Lowry on the last dates of its UK tour.

Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker! 2021 is certain to get all of the family warmed up as we head into December. A ballet classic for our time – perfect for dance-lovers or an unforgettable first trip to the ballet. Additionally – in a wonderful fusion of circus, music and digital recording – the UK’s leading integrated circus company, Extraordinary Bodies will present Human – a beautiful, witty and joyous show for absolutely everybody.

The Lowry Winter Season closes with the critically acclaimed Leeds Playhouse production of CS Lewis’ beloved classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. With a phenomenal cast and an award-winning team of creatives, the snowy tale of magic and mischief is brought to life this Christmas.

And with the big day steadily coming towards us, tickets are already selling quite fast for some of the festive shows and events. We certainly wouldn’t hang around if you want to be sure of bagsying the best seats.
