Showtime from the Frontline is an entertaining and engaging show about a real-life comedy club in a refugee camp in Palestine.

Bringing stand-up, storytelling and theatre, join Mark Thomas and his team of comics for this entertaining live stream. Showtime From the Frontline will be streamed via YouTube on Tuesday 9 June.

Dodging cultural and literal bullets, Thomas and his team of comics set out to launch a comedy club in the Palestinian city of Jenin, in the West Bank.

Working together with Dr Sam Beale, a lecturer in stand-up at Middlesex University, Thomas ran a series of intensive comedy classes in the Freedom Theatre in the West Bank city of Jenin in 2017. A huge success, the project culminated in several successful comedy shows and club nights. Featuring two of Thomas’ original students – Faisal Abu Alhayjaa and Alaa Shehada – Showtime from the Frontline is a spin-off show about the Jenin comedy club.

Be sure to stick around after the show for a live Q&A with the cast and team.

The intro and Q+A will include BSL signing, and the main show, which runs at approximately 2 hours will have subtitles.

As a patron of the International Medical Education Trust (IMET2000), Mark Thomas will be donating 20 % of the income from this show to support child mental health programmes in Palestine and Lebanon. 20% of your ticket purchase will also go to The Lowry.
