Loserpalloza is an all-dayer split between the beauty and beast combination of Manchester’s The Peer Hat and its sister venue, Aatma. Presented by The Society of Losers, there’s a range of indie, rock and metal on offer, with bands descending on the Northern Quarter venues from across the country.

Our top pick is Sunshine Frisbee Laser Beam, a Birmingham-based five piece whose ferocious pop-via-grunge tunes are made for playing live. Perhaps Birmingham’s hardest working band, they’ve recorded close to 100 songs since their inception in 2011. Their latest album – a double album, at that – abounds with fuzzed up pop hooks that will nag you for days. Listen to Sink or Swim/The Mirage’s lead single below. If they can exude that much raw energy on record, imagine what they’re going to be like in a sweaty, sweaty Aatma.
