Grimm & Co is a charity aiming to change lives one story at a time. They support children and young people aged 7 to 18 with their confidence and skills around creativity and writing. They work with artists, provide one-to-one mentoring and devise exciting projects, which aim to spark children’s motivation to write and imagine world’s beyond their own reality…

Who better to partner with then than Manchester Literature Festival and the fabulous Z-arts?! Join them on 13th October for a fun afternoon spent stretching young imaginations. They invite you and your family to step into a magical world of wonder and enchantment. Along side inspiring storytelling there’ll be wand crafting, spell writing, and brewing up and designing the recipe for your own magical potion. Get ready to leave the mortal universe behind and step in to a world of magical sorcery.

Manchester Literature Festival

This is the 13th year of Manchester Literature Festival, which was built on the legacy of Manchester Poetry Festival. The festival provides activities all year round to showcase the very best in contemporary writing from across the world. They also aim to promote Manchester and provide opportunities for children and young people to get involved in creative writing and reading activities.

There’s a fabulous line up awaiting families in their 2019 programmes of activities. Check out their Family Reading Day at Manchester Central Library (19th October) and an Afternoon with David Baddiel at the Royal Northern College of Music (20th October).

Note: There are three different session times for the Grimm & Co. Takeover, throughout the afternoon; 12.30pm, 1.45pm and 3pm. Each session includes all three activities and will last approximately an hour.

Recommended for children aged 8-11 years.
