The University of Salford Art Collection presents its latest exhibition, Between the Earth and the Sky at the New Adelphi Exhibition Gallery which focuses on nature’s transitional moments through the lens of art. The exhibition features a number of celebrated contemporary artists, including Christiane Baumgartner, Bridget Riley, Darren Almond, Jessica El Mal, and Liang Yue.

The works capture nature’s nuances: tides, mist, reflections and light so don’t expect a traditional landscape show – it’s the in-between moments that are gathered here, against the beautiful deep Klein blue of the walls. This brave curatorial choice showcases the works at their best, both contrasting and enhancing the paintings, prints, photographs and video.

Highlights include Jessica El Mal’s cyanotype work which takes inspiration from the first drops of rainfall after a prolonged drought, Christiane Baumgartner’s woodcuts and Darren Almond’s otherworldly long-exposure photographs in full moonlight.
