We know that summer is on its way when The Dukes announce their outdoor walkabout theatre show. Following last year’s globetrotting success of Around the World in 80 Days, the award-winning company return to Williamson Park with Alice in Wonderland. The perfect madcap family adventure for all ages.

Follow the rabbit into the marvellous world of Alice in Wonderland and head out on a kaleidoscopic adventure of the highest order. The beautiful setting of Lancaster’s Williamson Park will provide the lush, magical backdrop for this open-air performance.

Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic of curious characters, enchanting landscapes and zany riddles has been ingeniously adapted by writer Andrew Pollard. Keep up with all of the action as you follow the extraordinary tale through the park; from the mischievous Cheshire Cat to the formidable Queen of Hearts, this production – directed by Kirstie Davies – is set to surprise and delight.

For those who haven’t attended the walkabout theatre show before, you’re in for a treat. The audience travel around the enchanting parkland to follow the story, moving to different locations as each scene unfolds. Williamson Park overlooks the beautiful Morecambe Bay too; with its stunning natural landscape and amazing sunsets, it’s a great place to arrive early for a pre-show picnic with the family.

We’re thrilled that The Dukes has teamed up with Williamson Park once again to bring another fantastic park show to audiences for summer 2024. The Dukes has been entertaining generations of families with their summer promenade shows since 1987, attracting a total of more than half a million people.

Of this production, The Dukes’ new CEO, Chris Lawson, told us, “I’m delighted to announce the return of our outdoor play in the park, Alice In Wonderland. We have a fantastic creative team working on this production and we’re excited to present what will be a show full of fantastic family fun. As the new CEO at the Dukes, this will be my first time working with the Dukes team on the Play in the Park, but I’m excited to see what we create, the team here are full of enthusiasm and excitement as we start the journey on creating another adventure in the beautiful Williamson Park this summer. These shows always sell fast with the popular weekend dates always going first so grab your tickets quick.”
