Surrounded by an assortment of boutique shops and independent eateries, Revo Records is based in Westgate Arcade, Halifax. Trading for over 30 years, the iconic shop prides itself on stocking an eclectic selection of vinyl records – the latest new releases alongside second-hand vinyl.

The owner of Revo Records, Nick Simonet has been around to witness the resurgence of Halifax in recent years. Operating the shop for over three decades – he’s been around to see the good, the bad and the ugly on the retail scene in Calderdale. Most importantly, during the last couple of years, Revo Records has been a part of the cultural renaissance taking place in this West Yorkshire town. Buzzing with music, arts and culture, Halifax has attracted shoppers – both local and from further afield – with its thriving shopping quarters and specialist independent retailers.

Selling CDs, DVDs as well as vinyl album covers, you’ll find every genre in Revo Records – from movie soundtracks to dance, from jazz to rock. Knowledgeable and friendly, the staff are always on hand to help locate some of the more obscure records too.

Of course, Revo Records is part of the annual Record Store Day, bringing hundreds of the UK’s independent record shops together to celebrate their unique culture. Held every year in May, it’s one of the biggest annual events on the music calendar. We think that Revo Records is certainly holding up the baton for music and flying the flag for indie record shops in Halifax.
