Didsbury, Manchester

Creative Tourist

Follow Oxford Road South through the Curry Mile, along Wilmslow Road, past Platt Fields Park and through Withington and you’ll eventually reach Didsbury, an area divided into two main parts. There’s Didsbury Village, dominated by prestigious chains, and West Didsbury, which has an altogether more independent feel.

From artisan shops like The Cheese Hamlet to beautiful restaurants like Gusto, Didsbury Village does have its gems, but the majority of your time should be spent exploring Burton Road, the heart of West Didsbury. Here you’ll find an especially strong bunch of restaurants, among them the superb-looking FOLK, and intimate bistro bar Volta.
