With production credits as varied as Pet Shop Boys, Rammstein and Snoop Dogg, it’s fair to say that Sven Helbig has a genre-spanning career. The German composer, director and producer has also directed music videos, stage shows and theatrical multimedia events – including Snoop Dogg’s performance at the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards.

For this Manchester Camerata UpClose event, however, his Pocket Symphonies – compositions for orchestra and piano quartet – are the focus. Artist filmmaker Chris Paul Daniels, a regular contributor at HOME, will provide a live video accompaniment to the music.
