Keen artist or just looking for a fun night out with a bit of a twist? PopUp painting welcomes all.
These relaxed events take place in bars around Manchester, and in this featured event at Common, you will get to grips with the block colours and vibrant aesthetic of Pop Art.
As a reaction to the American trend of Sip N’ Paint, PopUp started their boozy art events in London. They have since been helping people unleash their creativity with a paintbrush in one hand and a wine glass in the other since 2013. In PopUp events, local artists help people master some basic painting skills, with easy to use acrylic paint. Each event focuses on a particular well-known artist and one of their most famous works.
In this night a Common pop art is the focus, however, if this isn’t your style you can also try the Van Gogh, Klimt and Picasso events PopUp painting are doing in Manchester this Autumn. Alternatively, if you feel particularly inspired you’re more than encouraged to go off-piste and just experiment with the materials.
PopUp holds events several times a month across five of Manchester’s more spacious venues including Common, Innside and Seven Bro7hers. Each event is hands-on and immersive with tailored playlists chosen to match the kind of energy required in the painting process, as well as relating to the relevant era or the tastes of the artist in focus.
If you have always wanted to have a go at painting but never had an outlet for your artistic inclinations, or if you just want to add a more cultural twist to time spent drinking with friends, PopUp painting is the one. Check the website for more of their Manchester dates.
