Kampus is the creation of developers Capital&Centric. Spread across a number of grade-listed buildings and communal spaces, it hosts some of the North’s best independent brands such as Nell’s and Cloudwater. After a successful run of Sunday markets from Ancoats Pop Up, they are hosting Merry Kampus, a cosy and intimate one-stop-Christmas-shop collaborating with local independents such as Neighbourhood Brew; John Douglas Gifts; Gra-Designs; Catherine Wood Vintages Wardrobe; Lorna Robey; Jive Prints; Brazen Prints; Mark Levelle; Blumeli; El Booth Jewellery; and the Flat Baker.

the experience is a little present in itself

It’s a great place to have a relaxing peruse for Christmas presents and take a break from the hectic centre of the city. Inside the Christmassy bungalow you can unwind with sweet treats from the Flat Baker as well as taking inspiration from the goods on sale.

Alongside the shop there will be a regular series of workshops where you can make your own gifts for your loved ones. Enjoy creating something totally unique for your special someone, knowing that the experience is a little present in itself, just from you to you.

give your handmade presents away with a cleaner consumer conscience

Between the 10th November and 18th December there will be cocktail making classes, vintage handbag recycling, macrame, embroidery, a wine fair from Kampus residents Beeswing and a workshop for making handmade homeware with Abbey Lou Designs. Each session is hosted and run by a local expert so you can be sure you’re learning from the best. Materials are also sourced sustainably where possible and there’s a strong emphasis on recycling, repurposing and reusing, meaning you can give your handmade presents away with a cleaner consumer conscience. Check out the website for specific dates and times for each workshop. Who knows, maybe this year is the time for a Craftmas.

Come to Swithens Farm for a great family day out in Leeds. Our farm has plenty to offer whatever age you are!Swithens Farm is a working farm. For many years now Ian and his wife Angela have built a following that they welcome in all year around. We now have a farm shop, café, playbarn and petting farm. When we first opened we only had the usual farm animals – cows, pigs, sheep, chickens and it was free entry. We now have llamas, alpacas, meerkats, rabbits, guinea pigs, donkeys and a pony.On the working farm, we breed our own cows, pigs and sheep and we sell the meat through the farm shop and the café. If you buy a sausage sandwich from the café the sausage will be from the butcher who has made the sausage by hand using our own pork. We also produce our own free-range eggs.
