Aston Hall Hotel in Aston, Sheffield

Another historic hotel, here – Aston Hall Hotel was built in 1772 and has been carefully restored to maintain many of the original features. It sits around 20 minutes from Sheffield city centre, on the hem of the Peak District, in 55 acres of lush garden and meadowland.

A luxury, urban retreat, book one of the 52 stylish bedrooms and suites, and enjoy a meal in the Bamford Restaurant or relax in the Volante Bar and Lounge – Aston Hall Hotel has it all.

Designed by the prolific English architect John Carr, Aston Hall was owned by the D’Arcy family until 1790, when it was sold to the Verelst family. The Hall was a favourite place of the poet Lord Byron, who often stayed and (if the stories are to be believed) had multiple affairs here too. In addition to being a grand 18th-century residence, the Hall also served as a psychiatric hospital before becoming the luxury hotel we know today.

The estate at Aston Hall includes D’Arcy House, a luxury separate house containing six bedrooms, available for exclusive use. The hotel also has gym facilities, light and airy meeting rooms and two impressive banqueting suites. The picturesque grounds and stunning setting on the doorstep of the Peak District make the Hall a popular wedding venue choice too.
