Leeds Record Fair at Leeds Kirkgate Market, Leeds 12 November 2022 Entrance is free — Visit now

In these autumnal evenings you can’t really beat curling up in a good chair with a beverage of choice and losing yourself in an album. For the purists out there, you’ll appreciate the difference in ritual between flipping over a much-loved 12 inch and getting your phone out to click on the next algorithm-generated playlist. Freshen up your collection of physically tangible music this November with Leeds Record Fair.

Held in the historical 1976 and 1981 halls in Leeds’ Kirkgate Market, the record fair is one of the biggest in the North of England. Over 30 stall holders will be bringing their well curated collections of top quality vinyl to show, spin and sell. Among the bargains and well known classics, you can be sure to find some rare and coveted LPs or short run presses of limited edition releases. It might require a bit of hunting between the sea of tables but that’s part of the fun of it.

You can be sure that the taste level among sellers is of a certain standard

Leeds is a city with such a strong music scene, that survives on the appreciators and listeners as much as the creators. As part of that musically driven culture, you can be sure that the taste level among sellers is of a certain standard. It’s also a credit to the city how diverse the selections are in terms of genre and style, with each seller having an area of expertise.

With that particular festival approaching (which shall not be named – but it’s the one that involves a bit of gift giving), Leeds Record Fair is the ideal treasure chest to find a long lost gem of a vinyl for your musically inclined loved ones.

The fair is easily accessible, just a 10 minute walk from Leeds train station and positioned in the middle of town, leaving you in prime position to make a day of it.
