An iconic landmark amid the Georgian splendour of Liverpool’s Hope Street, The London Carriage Works is one of Merseyside’s most treasured fine dining restaurants.

Since opening in 2003, The London Carriage Works has won award after award in recognition of its cuisine, wine list, chef team and commitment to tourism.

The building is named after the original 1860 company, a London firm of coach and carriage builders. During renovation the original name was discovered carved in the stone lintel above the front door and kept out of respect for the building’s history.

These days you’re more likely to catch the Liverpool FC coach round these parts; the restaurant is sister to the award-winning Hope Street Hotel, a favourite meeting point for Jurgen Klopp and his team before their league games at Anfield. This is the heart of the city’s fine dining scene and The London Carriage Works is the bloodline between old and new Liverpool; traditional but modern

The London Carriage Works (LCW) prides itself on modern British dishes using local, fresh and seasonal produce. It has two AA Rosettes and holds an AA Notable Wine award for its extensive and eclectic wine list. As well as a delectable evening menu, the restaurant is also open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and evening drinks.

Just a stone’s throw from Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, LCW is very popular with the pre and post theatre crowd and we’d recommend taking advantage of the Prix Fixe menu while you’re visiting one of Liverpool’s most charming streets, with its two stunning cathedrals at either end.

This is the very heart of the city’s fine dining scene and The London Carriage Works is the bloodline between old and new Liverpool; traditional but modern. You’ll find an impressive selection of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and a vast drinks menu that urges you to stay just that little bit longer. Kick back and try the stonking British cheese board with a glass of Krohn Colheita port. Absolute perfection.
