Festive Voices at Aviva Studios

Creative Tourist

Festive Voices returns to Aviva Studios this December with a free series of performances in the Social, and the line-up is a long way from a standard carol service.

Bolton’s Cottontown have been crowned the UK’s top barbershop chorus nine times, and are known for big, polished close harmony. Manchester Proud Chorus and The Sunday Boys, two of the city’s LGBTQ+ choirs, bring musical theatre, new commissions and a strong sense of community. Sing Out Music Gospel Choir and Hulme’s NIA Choir lean into gospel, soul and R&B. The Untold Quartet, a stripped-back line-up from The Untold Orchestra, swaps the choir for a band.

What links them is a grounding in Greater Manchester’s community music scene, with most of these groups built as much around friendship and inclusion as performance. Each act has its own date, and all tickets are free but need booking in advance. We’ve rounded up every Festive Voices event below.
