One of our most anticipated films of the year is the latest from acclaimed Norwegian filmmaker Joachim Trier. The final installment in the director’s ‘Oslo Trilogy,’ The Worst Person in the World stars Renate Reinsve in a comedy-drama following the life, loves and careers of a young woman across four years. The performer won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her role as Julie, a vibrant thirty something making her way in the world, caught somewhat between her stable comic-book artist boyfriend and an exciting new stranger she meets at a party.

Split into 13 chapters and written alongside Trier’s regular collaborator Eskil Vogt, the film has been praised for its astute observations, tender exuberance and visual flourishes, with Variety’s Guy Lodge dubbing it a “widely accessible arthouse pleasure [which] deserves to become a touchstone film for many an ’80s and ’90s baby in Julie’s precarious boat.”
