Run, run, as fast as you can, get your tickets to see the Gingerbread Man! This November, Leeds Children’s Theatre is celebrating an incredible 90 years of making magic, and what better way to mark the milestone than with a family favourite as sweet and spicy as The Gingerbread Man?

This is slightly different to the version we all know – where our favourite biscuit outruns the cow and the fox and meets a sticky end. This time, the gingerbread hero is on the kitchen dresser, and all sorts of crazy chaos is quietly unfolding while the ‘Big Ones’ are fast asleep.

A cuckoo loses his voice and his patience, Salt and Pepper are way more than just seasoning, and the Old Tea Bag is up to her usual shelf-top scheming. Oh, and there’s a gangster mouse lurking with sugar-cravings and no regard for kitchen diplomacy – uh oh! Yes it is as funny and brilliant as it sounds.

The Gingerbread Man at Carriageworks Theatre is perfect for families and children aged 6+. The show is made complete with toe-tapping tunes, a bit of biscuit-based bravery and just the right amount of kitchen-shelf danger to keep everyone on the edge of their seat.

Fast paced and fun, it’s a perfect show for families. It’s really great for everyone – it will have your kids giggling, your grandma grooving, and the whole family leaving the theatre with huge smiles and humming David Wood’s catchy songs. Catch it while it’s hot out of the oven.
