Hebden Bridge is a cornucopia of pleasurable experiences and one of the latest additions to the town’s offering of mindful activities is iglu sauna, a Nordic style sauna and plunge pool experience. This haven of temperature controlled calm has scenic views over the Calder Valley and offers a spa experience where you can feel integrated in nature rather than in a sterile white enamel tiled environment.

Just a two-minute walk from the centre of Hebden Bridge, you’ll find iglu Sauna nestled amongst the trees. Using the principles and techniques of Nordic-style Sauna culture you can appreciate this particularly beautiful part of the world whilst treating your body to some tlc.

iglu currently offers a selection of sessions: Regular, 90 minute, Salt and Mud, Sauna and Sound Bath, and Quiet. You have access to the sauna, plunge pools, fireside seating, changing rooms and showers no matter which type of session you attend.

If you’re looking for something a bit more special than the hot-cold-hot experience the salt and mud spa sessions are well worth checking out. After your first 15 mins in the sauna, you will be invited to choose from a selection of Himalayan body salt scrubs with different aromas to enjoy before re-entering the sauna and watching them dissolve into your skin. You’ll then apply a Rhassoul clay mask to your face and let that work some derma magic before washing everything off in the outdoor showers and enjoying how radiant your skin feels.

The quiet sessions are dedicated spaces for a meditative and serene experience to be enjoyed by a shared group without the pressure to speak.

There are two saunas in the space. One holds up to ten people at any one time, the other holds up to 6.  Private sessions can also be booked via their website. All you need to bring is swimwear, footwear, a water bottle and two towels.

Compared to other spa experiences, iglu is incredibly fairly priced whilst still offering a beautifully restorative time.

Come to Swithens Farm for a great family day out in Leeds. Our farm has plenty to offer whatever age you are!Swithens Farm is a working farm. For many years now Ian and his wife Angela have built a following that they welcome in all year around. We now have a farm shop, café, playbarn and petting farm. When we first opened we only had the usual farm animals – cows, pigs, sheep, chickens and it was free entry. We now have llamas, alpacas, meerkats, rabbits, guinea pigs, donkeys and a pony.On the working farm, we breed our own cows, pigs and sheep and we sell the meat through the farm shop and the café. If you buy a sausage sandwich from the café the sausage will be from the butcher who has made the sausage by hand using our own pork. We also produce our own free-range eggs.
