Pitchbend Sample Hack at Rogue Artists’ Studios
Carmel Smickersgill, Tours & Activities EditorIn this DIY noise workshop you’ll create a sampler allowing you to loop and bend your live environment. Enter the NOISE Orchestra studio to learn more about the 1820 sampler chip and how it can be hacked.
You’ll create a device allowing you to record 10 second loops (repeated audio clips) of your environment, then you will be able to spend hours pitch bending (changing the pitch of) these loops. NOISE orchestra sound artists (Vicky Clarke and David Birchall) will also show you how to hack (expand the possibilities) of the chip by adding a line in allowing you to input your own audio into the loop.
