Make It! Tahini and Honey Cookies (All ages welcome)
Always double check opening hours with the venue before making a special visit.

The tahini and honey cookies are a staple favourite at the Manchester Jewish Museum cafe. Now, you can unlock the secrets to these divine drops of happiness with a cooking workshop in their learning kitchen. The museum understands that the best way to share culture is to embrace the living parts of it like food, music, literature and community as well as remembering and exploring the history.
In this tahini and honey cookie making workshop you’ll learn about Libya’s produce. Particularly its idiomatically flavoured honey which has won prestigious food awards in London, Paris and Cairo. You’ll also discover the story of Effraim Nahum, a man whose journey from Libya to Manchester in 1876 was what brought this particularly special ingredient to the city.
Food is never just sustenance, it’s a large part of the social fabric which binds us together. Find community, heritage and culinary legacy in this all ages workshop.
Younger bakers are welcome but must be supervised. All ingredients used are Kosher but the food is not Beth Din supervised. These cookies are vegetarian, however the recipe does contain honey, eggs, sesame seeds and gluten.
