New Women’s Voices in Lebanese Cinema at HOME
Creative TouristThis film season engages with women’s work, ideas and artistic expressions in films from Lebanon. The three films address topics ranging from women’s roles and status in contemporary Lebanese society, class issues and the refugee crisis, to the legacy of the civil war and its aftermath. Brought together, these films contribute to shaping public discussions about the role of cinema as a historical source of cultural, social and political themes, and raise awareness about the contemporary Arab world in general and Lebanese history and society in particular.
