Plaster Carving may not be something you’ve come across before however this soothing and mindful way to calm your thoughts and busy your hands is a highly rewarding creative pursuit. Join Jeannie Waterhouse for a crash course in bas-relief, where you’ll make a 3-D image carved on a flat surface.

After a short demonstration of the tools and how they can be used, you’ll see some examples to get inspired by before drawing and carving your own design. You can go as realistic or as abstract as you can imagine and add pops of colour using chalk pastels in the design.

Whether you’re confident with your hands or a complete beginning the workshop is open to all those 18 or over who are willing to give carving a try.
