Le Bistro Des Amis

Le Bistro De Amis

When it comes to eateries in Skipton, you’re spoilt for choice. The variety of cuisines and fine dining is rivalled in taste by the local chippy. However, when you’re looking for somewhere with a relaxed atmosphere and a menu that caters well throughout the day Le Bistro Des Amis is not one to be missed.

From the faux French exterior, which looks more like a street corner in Montmartre than a pub in the Dales, to their Franco / Yorkshire menu, Le Bistro Des Amis serves up no nonsense food from both cultures. Making the best of both produce from the surrounding area and importing particular ingredients from famous French markets, they’ve managed to create a hybrid menu that would perfectly satisfy those post walk hunger pangs.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and is equally accommodating whether you call in for a light lunch, drinks, or a three course meal. On the ground floor their bar is stocked with a selection of speciality French wines and other delicacies you may not have come across. While sipping a glass of Le Bistro Des Amis’ pastis in the height of summer, you wouldn’t be blamed for feeling like you’re in the South of France.

Their lunch options are the perfect thing to set you up before heading off into the Hills for an afternoon. With a selection of baguettes as well as hot meals, you’ll see cultural collisions such as a croque monsieur listed above bangers and mash.

Dinner is a meaty affair. Their three course menu boasts a mains section with numerous meat and seafood options. Some dishes take inspiration from more traditional palettes while others put a modern spin on both cousines. What can be said for sure, is that the carnivorous visitors won’t be left feeling disappointed.

Le Bistro Des Amis is a great spot for quality food without the pressure of fine dining.
