11 June 2022 Tickets from £25.00 — Book now

Laura from Chunkynfunky started experimenting with polymer clay in 2020, bringing some much needed colour and beautiful design to an otherwise grey year. Her love for creating these statement pieces has led to her building up an online shop and wanting to share her passion for colourful jewellery with others. Join her for a workshop in which you’ll create your own bespoke pieces of polymer clay jewellery at Open Source Arts in Leeds.

The session will begin with a short demonstration from Laura. She’ll show you how to create your own polymer clay slab, which you can then turn into a colourful and fun matching set of statement pieces. While everyone’s polymer clay bakes there will be a short break for light refreshments and chat. Once out of the oven, you’ll sand down each piece before adding the finishing touches and assembling your jewellry ready to take home and impress your mates with.

Laura’s own style is bold, bright and playful so you can expect to be encouraged in this workshop to explore these sides of your own creativity. It’s a great way to push the boundaries of what you’d usually wear and make, or include that colour into your wardrobe that you’ve always shied away from.

All materials and tools for the workshop will be provided, please get in touch beforehand if you are aware of any metal allergies, most can be accommodated for, so no one needs to miss out. You’re also welcome to bring any colours, patterns or other materials to the workshop that you want to take inspiration from.

The polymer clay jewellery workshop is held at Open Source Arts, an organisation based on Kirkstall Road in Leeds who help people find community, creativity and ways in which we can work together towards a sustainable future. Check out their website for other events, workshops and ways to get involved.
