Vintage Sundays: Scorsese and De Niro at FACT

Tom Grieve, Cinema Editor

Vintage Sundays: Scorsese and De Niro at FACT, City Centre 5 March — 9 April 2017 Tickets from £8.00 — Book now

Vintage Sundays at FACT continues its weekly showcase of classics with a season of films from the one of the all-time great actor-direct partnerships. Over the span of eight films, Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese blazed a trail through the streets of New York, Las Vegas and North Carolina (but mainly New York) and trawled the national psyche in order to examine subjects as diverse and central to the American myth as: celebrity, prejudice, gangsterism, race, class and capitalism. Full of swinging highs and lows, the films rank amongst the best American pictures ever produced. Over consecutive weeks, FACT present six of the pair’s collaborations for your enjoyment.
