Composers Naomi Pinnock and Ann Cleare are the focus of hcmf// 2019’s opening night. Ahead of Sonar Quartet’s performance of Pinnock’s new work I am, I am, the artists discuss their approach to composing, considering Pinnock’s attempt to connect music to memory, as well as Cleare’s interest in creating music spaces that audiences can interact with.
