In The Earth + Q&A with Ben Wheatley at FACT
Tom Grieve, Cinema EditorAs the world searches for a cure to a disastrous virus, a scientist and park scout venture deep in the forest for a routine equipment run. Through the night, their journey becomes a terrifying voyage through the heart of darkness, the forest coming to life around them.
So goes the premise of In The Earth, an atmospheric new horror from director Ben Wheatley — a filmmaker who has more than proven his chops with such savage genre fare as Kill List, A Field in England and High-Rise.
While audiences have missed the experience of the big screen over the last year, live events have also been halted. Wheatley will be in attendance in person for a special Q&A at FACT’s preview screening this Saturday, where he will answer questions from the audience.
The feature presentation contains several sequences of flashing lights that may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitivities.
