'Be Right Back' Closing Weekend at Band on the Wall, Manchester 31 July — 1 August 2020 Entrance is free — Visit now

Ahead of closing temporarily until September 2021, Band on the Wall are holding a socially distant weekender, featuring some of their favourites local artists and pals.

Billed as a “chilled, laid-back affair”, the Friday will be an after-work live session centred around Band on the Wall’s outdoor stage. It will feature local jazz-soul vocalist Kike, followed resident DJ Jamie Groovement.

Saturday will be an all-day affair. First, we’ll hear a stripped-back set from rising star on the Manchester neo-soul jazz scene, Mali Hayes, followed by a trio performance from the excellent local Afrobeat-inspired jazz group, Agbeko, who’ll be exploring new sounds and re-arrangements.

Headlining the Saturday session will be Manchester club legend Mr. Scruff. His Keep it Unreal residency has been at Band on the Wall for over ten years, so who better to bring down the curtain until the much-loved venue re-opens next year.

Besides all of this, DJs Jim Bane (Eastern Bloc) and Andrea Trout will be getting the beats going from midday, so get down early!
