Competition: WIN tickets to a UK premiere

Polly Checkland Harding

Enter our competition to win tickets to the UK premiere of renowned Polish composer Kryzysztof Penderecki’s powerful Seventh Symphony.

How often do you get the opportunity to see the UK premiere of a piece of classical music that requires three choirs, five soloists, off-stage wood and brass sections and a narrator, for free? Opportunity, as they say, knocks – and this is by way of a loud tap on the door of your attention: we’ve got ten pairs of tickets to the performance of renowned Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki’s Seventh Symphony Seven Gates of Jerusalem (Friday, 26 June, usually £18 each; £36 per pair) to give away to Creative Tourist readers.

WIN tickets to a classical music premiere at The Bridgewater

This special, end of year concert at The Bridgewater Hall is the highlight of the RNCM’s festival Seven Gates: The Music of Poland Explored (23-26 June); the seventh symphony is rarely performed due to its scope and ambition, and has never before been in the UK. What’s more, it will be conducted by Penderecki himself. Classical music buffs will know the composer’s back catalogue of music for operas and orchestras (he’s widely regarded as Poland’s greatest living composer) – those less well versed, however, might still recognise his music from soundtracks to The Shining and The Exorcist.

So, to be in with a chance of winning one of ten pairs of tickets to a concert that RNCM’s Artistic Director Dr Michelle Castelletti has said ‘we are pulling out all the stops for,’ all you have to do is enter your details into the form below. The competition closes at 10am on Tuesday 23 June – good luck!

THIS COMPETITION HAS NOW CLOSED.

Terms and Conditions: The winner will be the first correct entry selected at random from all correct entries received. No purchase necessary. No cash alternative given. Employees of Creative Tourist, the Royal Northern College of Music or associated companies are not eligible to enter. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winners will be notified as soon as possible after the closing date. Only one entry per person. We apologise for the fact we are unable to post prizes outside of the UK. Entrants will automatically be added to the Creative Tourist mailing list – don’t worry, we never share data and we promise not to bombard you with endless emails. The offer is for ten pairs of tickets (each to be won separately, one pair per winner) to the UK premiere of Seven Gates of Jerusalem at The Bridgewater Hall, Friday 26 June, 7.30pm.
