Taking a musical approach to Shakespeare, Three Inch Fools will bring their vibrant and fast-paced version of Much Ado About Nothing to Blackwell – The Arts and Craft House. Perhaps most pleasingly, the show will be performed outdoors to the naturally stunning backdrop of Windermere and the Coniston Fells.

Much Ado About Nothing is a real crowd-pleaser – a highly entertaining tale of love and misunderstanding. And Three Inch Fools are sure to present a refreshing and innovative take on this much-loved, and hilariously chaotic, Shakespearean comedy.

The action takes place in Messina, Italy and revolves around two pairs of lovers, Beatrice and Benedick, and Hero and Claudio – their romance and misunderstanding in love has continued to fascinate and delight audiences for centuries. But will love triumph in this rip-roaring comedy of quarrels, deceptions and a frustratingly stupid man called Dogberry?

Three Inch Fools are sure to present a refreshing and innovative take on this much-loved, and hilariously chaotic, Shakespearean comedy.

The Three Inch Fools are a five-strong ensemble of performers equipped with all manner of musical instruments – they perform highly imaginative productions in all kinds of grand locations. Formed in 2015 by brothers James and Stephen Hyde, the company have staged their musical take on Shakespeare in castles and stately homes, pubs, a fire station and even a garlic farm.

The event will take place on the lawn at Blackwell and you are advised to bring your own camping chairs and blankets.

This really is touring Shakespeare returning to its roots, performed by a small company in a picturesque open-air setting, with minimal props and few elaborate costumes. Imagine – a balmy summer’s evening, an open picnic basket at your feet and a thirst-quenching glass of Pimms in your hand. Perfect.
