Things to do in Leeds

Creative Tourist

Leeds is full of ideas this autumn.

Hogging more than its fair share of them is Transform Festival, an engine room of powerful, urgent and trailblazing performance, visual arts, dance, conversations and adventure. Fiercely contemporary and socially conscious, it’s all delivered on a Pay What You Can basis – making it one of the most accessible and open-hearted festivals around.

The gaze turns inwards in Fragment and Form at the Henry Moore Institute, which sees three artists explore heritage, myth and displacement through works that are rich in symbolic materials and minimalist in form. And dialling the energy way, way up is New York’s Les Savy Fav, who return to the Brudenell on All Hallows’ Eve, blurring the line between performance art and punk show.

From radical reinvention to riotous release, Leeds this autumn is alive with culture that won’t sit still.
