The Music Of Proof: What Does Maths Sound Like? at the RNCM
Chris HorkanPRiSM – aka Practice & Research in Science & Music – explores the connection between music and maths for this unusual event. It features a new collection of five short movements for string quartet, with each movement representing a mathematical idea.
What’s more, the performances will run alongside the launch of a new app that invites the audience to match maths to musical fragments. The event also features a discussion on the relationship between maths and music between composer Emily Howard and mathematician Marcus du Sautoy.
