The RNCM hosts its first day-long Come and Sing event, to coincide with the RNCM Opera’s production of Handel’s Theodora.

Conductor Tom Newall will lead participants through a selection of Handel choruses in the morning, while Ros Edwards from the Henry Watson Music Library will present Handel manuscripts in the afternoon. British soprano and Handel specialist Lynne Dawson will join Ros for an informal Q&A, discussing how a large quantity of Handel manuscripts found a home in Manchester.

The ticket price also includes entry to the 3pm matinee performance of Theodora.  Place are limited, so early booking is recommended.

This traditional boozer, surrounded by imposing flats and university buildings, was taken over by Trof (of the Deaf Institute fame). The Sally, as the regulars call it, hosts an energetic, arty crowd – and its recently expanded outside area is another good reason to visit.
