Geinene Carson: Pathways at the Giving Tree at The Giving Tree, Manchester 21 April 2023 Entrance is free — Visit now

The cosy community café The Giving Tree in Manchester presents an exhibition of work from American artist Geinene Carson.

The work presented in the display was inspired by Carson’s research into her daughter’s rare genetic disorder, which led her to an interest in the study of neurons and neuro-genesis. The phenomenon of neuroplasticity and the ability of the brain to re-circuit itself around damage to create new pathways led the artist down a brand new, experimental form of abstract painting.

The process of painting as well as the message communicated by the colourful lines are aligned with the lessons of mindfulness, suggesting that we are not our thoughts, we can only notice them. ⁣

You can enjoy Pathways while grabbing a cup of tea and a sweet treat, in the cosy interior of The Giving Tree.
