Hey! Manchester presents a promenade tour

Susie Stubbs

Hey! Manchester provides the chance to catch pop-up sets from secret bands in unusual locations, specially for the Manchester Weekender.

Taking in the sights and sounds of one of Manchester’s most characterful and historic roads, this rather special event takes the form of a musical promenade tour along Whitworth Street West. Join Hey! Manchester and a small group of very lucky music fans as we stop off along the way at galleries, cafes, homes, offices and other unusual locations, greeted each time by a different musical act – from acoustic folk acts through to full-blown five-piece bands. While they play a short set, take in the surroundings and enjoy some refreshments before the tour gets back underway. This promenade event will last approximately two hours and involves around half a mile of walking. Please dress accordingly for the weather, and wear comfortable shoes. Advanced booking essential – this one is likely to sell out. Meet in the foyer of Cornerhouse, 70 Oxford Street, M1 5NH, 2.30pm, Saturday 12 October, £5 adv.
