20 December 2019 — 20 January 2021 Entrance is free — Visit now

Get your family together and take flight on this classical music adventure, as The Hallé’s free Christmas concert is now available to watch on YouTube. You can look forward to contributions from the entire Hallé Orchestra, and its family of choirs.

You certainly don’t need to be a classical music aficionado to get a lot out of this event. In fact these concerts are a wonderful way to introduce your family to classical music. The Orchestra will perform the children’s story Slinky Malinki’s Christmas Crackers, set to music by Tim Redmond with illustrations from the book.

The concert was filmed in Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and conducted by Hallé Pops Maestro Stephen Bell. There will be some special guest readers joining the Orchestra, including Lemn Sissay who will read his poem Let There Be Peace. Sissay is joined by Elbow front man Guy Garvey, who will narrate The Night Before Christmas.
