Alice in Wonderland at Storyhouse
Gemma Gibb, Associate EditorWe can’t be more excited about the opening of Chester’s tremendous new £37million theatre, library, cinema and arts centre this month in its gloriously restored and renewed 1930s Odeon building.
A brand new production of Lewis Carroll’s classic and surreal adventure performed by Storyhouse’s exciting new rep company (the largest in the UK after the National Theatre and RSC) will be launching the organisation’s continued commitment to top notch indoor and outdoor arts experiences for families with audiences being about to choose between tickets in the brand new indoor theatre space until July or the stunning Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre throughout the summer.
With the creative team being the clever folk behind previously acclaimed Chester productions Stig of the Dump, Wind In The Willows and The Secret Garden and accompanying events and installations including a “secret-forest children’s library” and Mad Hatter’s tea parties, we love that the whole family audience experience will be so interactive and celebratory of everything that this new organisation is about – storytelling, imagination and exploration.
