Company Chameleon are set to bring Space to Speak – a new dance triple bill to Hulme Park. The dance performance is happening as part of ‘Hulme Is Where The Art Is’, a community outdoor arts festival presented by Z-arts.

This outdoor performance is a culmination of a unique dance and wellbeing project which has seen Company Chameleon and young people from Trinity High School and Z-arts, collaborate to develop and create three original pieces of choreography. Each short dance performance reflects on the past year of lockdown and draws on the young people’s experiences of the pandemic.

Young people from Z-arts will open the triple bill with their performance of In Waves before Trinity High School take to the stage with their piece, Space. The final work in the triple bill is the premiere of Company Chameleon’s new duet, Void choreographed by Kevin Edward Turner. Void explores the space created by Covid and lockdown, and what has occupied that space – both good and bad.

Company Chameleon have wowed audiences nationally and internationally with their athletic and heartfelt performances.

We’re huge fans of Manchester-based Company Chameleon, who have wowed audiences nationally and internationally with their athletic and heartfelt performances. Space to Speak: Dance Triple Bill offers the perfect opportunity to watch this superb homegrown company perform, as well as witnessing some of the amazing work the company has facilitated with young people across Manchester.

There will be two performances at 2 pm and 4 pm. The performances are free, no booking is required.
