Here at Creative Tourist we’re well acquainted with the incredible independent breweries of the North. Seeing new beers grow from brewers imaginations to becoming pub favourites. However, as the seasons turn and we’re eager to find a lighter fruitier experience we’re excited to see Leeds Beer Tours starting a new Craft Cider Tour.

a drink that’s made with very few ingredients can be transformed into such a diverse range of flavours

The tour starts at Nomadic Beers Brewery. Here, you’ll learn about the cider making process and how it differs from wine or beer. As you listen you’ll be introduced to the first ciders of the tour and start to refine your palate and appreciate the nuances in each cider.

From Nomadic you’ll then walk round the corner to The Reliance. This long-standing highlight of the Leeds food and drink scene is where you’ll try some locally produced small batch ciders. It’s remarkable to taste how a drink that’s made with very few ingredients can be transformed into such a diverse range of flavours. At The Reliance you’ll also get the chance to sample some local perry. This lesser known tipple is slowly making a comeback in popularity as an excellent accompaniment to cider.

Finally you’ll end up at Brownhill and Co, an excellent bar in the heart of Leeds. They are a place that often stocks experimental and small batch ciders, giving you the chance to try something a bit different and out there.

In total you’ll try ten different beverages all differing in style and strength. Most of them come in manageable measures so you shouldn’t end up too inebriated by the end of the tour. Once leaving Brownhill and Co you will be in the perfect place to carry on sampling the drinkable delights of Leeds should you choose to continue.

As well as running public tours, Leeds Beer Tours are also available for private and group bookings.
