Electronic duo Bicep will broadcast a new, audiovisual set this September – perhaps our only chance to watch them perform live (albeit virtually) this year.

As producers, DJs, label founders and avid record collectors, the Belfast-born, London-based duo Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson have become two of the most trusted curators of electronic music in the past decade. Signed to Ninja Tune in 2017, last year saw them make their most concise, articulate and daring musical statement yet: their eponymous debut album.

Bicep is a distillation of myriad influences and inspirations, a richly textured trip that channels the freeform experimentalism of early 90s IDM and renovates the house music blueprint. The pair’s obsession with detail, coupled with their creative use of analogue equipment, produces a richly organic sound that balances club music with home listening, the mainstream with the underground. It won them massive acclaim, and sell-out shows around the world – including Manchester’s Warehouse Project.

Bicep were set to tour again this summer, but with the live music and touring industry in a state of flux, these shows have been either postponed or cancelled. We’ll thus be hearing their all-new set for the first time on 11th September. In addition to their latest single ‘Atlas’, expect a wealth of unreleased material, backed by immersive new visuals from Black Box Echo. The result will be an audiovisual experience that blurs the lines between live performance and video art.

The broadcast will be a one-time event, with no watch-backs or archive. After you purchase a ticket (priced at £10), you’ll receive a link via email, which will allow you access to the stream.
