Organised by the people behind the Greenpeace Field at Glastonbury, Action All Areas is a virtual festival with a mission.

Normally at this time of year, Greenpeace UK would be gearing up to bring their vital message to Glastonbury and other festivals across the country. Despite the widespread cancellation of these festivals, they’re still adamant about raising awareness about global environmental problems and their causes. In a similar way to Glastonbury’s Shangri-La, Greenpeace UK have resolved to organise a virtual festival of their own, featuring an array of musical performances, live DJ sets and educational activities.

A virtual festival with a mission.

Over the course of three days, Action All Areas will host live-streamed performances from a mixture of new artists and veterans of Glastonbury’s Greenpeace Field. One of our top picks is electro-pop artist Georgia, whose new album Seeking Thrills the Guardian called “a bold British hymn to hedonism”. We’re also keen to check out Squid, a math pop meets 70’s post punk band who have recently signed to Warp Records. Arlo Parks, Self-Esteem, GLOK and Billy Bragg are also worth a watch, as well as a DJ set from Django Django.

In addition to the music, there will be an online area dedicated to the benefits of a plant-based diet to protect our ancient forests. In this section of the site, you’ll find tips to increase the amount of plant-based foods in your diet and reasons why this is a good thing for the health of the planet. There will also be a whole lot of educational resources about taking action to prevent damage to the environment, reducing inequality and tackling the perpetuation of oppression.

To tune into the action, head to the newly designed and fully interactive Action All Areas website from 18th June.
