Pitch your tent at Muncaster Castle this summer as Picnic Cinema revisit the golden age of disco and debauchery with a special outdoor screening of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights. Mark Wahlberg leads a starry cast as a well-hung adult entertainment prospect who ascends to the top of his profession before succumbing to the pitfalls of fame and fortune.

Boogie Nights thrills as it screams through the good time glamour of the So-Cal 1970s porn industry – a time stacked with pool parties and roller discos aplenty. But what comes up must come down, and when the clock strikes midnight at the end of the decade, a gunshot signals the beginnings of the end as the films outsized ensemble find themselves trapped in an industry increasingly relegated to mass produced home video.

There’s no guarantee that the weather will match that of the San Fernando Valley, but Picnic Cinema will do their best to transport campers into the world of Boogie Nights with disco tunes inspired by the film’s glorious period soundtrack. Flares and roller skates are heavily encouraged.
