Cineworld Speke

Tom Grieve, Cinema Editor
Cineworld

Located in the out of town New Mersey Retail Park, Liverpool’s Cineworld Speke has all the facilities you’d expect in a modern multiplex. Opened in 2018, there’s plenty of parking, 11 screens (including new-fangled features such as Superscreen, Screen X and High Frame Rate capabilities) and all the essential refreshments, including a Starbucks onsite. The magic of cinema awaits!

Regulars can see as many films as they like with a Cineworld Unlimited Card, which remains very good value for the committed cinemagoer.

In the busy programme, alongside the current blockbusters you’ll find the best of ballet, theatre and opera on the big screen. Cineworld Speke is accessible too, with autism-friendly screenings, subtitled films and audio-description. Guide dogs are also allowed. There are also facilities for families: Movies for Juniors offers reduced ticket prices for children; and Cinebabies invite parents with babies to watch a film with dimmed lights, lower volume and pram-storage.

The location is excellent for a family day out with plenty of food and drink options right outside the cinema. There are other entertainment spots too, like bowling and an indoor assault course so you can plan a day of activities all in one place.
