The Stoller Hall Birthday Concert
Ben Williams, Managing Editor
The Stoller Hall Birthday Concert takes place virtually next week. It’s hard to believe it’s been three years since Manchester welcomed its newest concert hall, further enhancing the city’s already enviable live music provision.
Situated next to Victoria Station, the venue is part of Chetham’s School of Music, the UK’s largest specialist music school and the only one based in the North of England. It is a high-spec, flexible auditorium that can seat up to 482 concert-goers in the stalls, balcony and gallery.
Since opening, The Stoller Hall has hosted everything from The Manchester Collective to Joan As Police Woman and has cemented itself as one of our favourite music venues in Manchester.
The Stoller Hall Birthday Concert will feature some high profile orchestras and classical musicians in a specially created virtual concert. Streaming free online, the concert will be hosted by BBC Radio 3 presenter and The Stoller Hall’s Artistic Director, Tom Redmond.
Expect some of the best performances from the past three years alongside new interview footage with musicians who have played there.
It’s been an excellent first three years for the venue, if you are yet to visit, we highly recommend adding it to your to-do list for when you-know-what is over.
For now, mark the occasion and join The Stoller Hall Birthday Concert and relive some of the magical moments, concerts and performances that have made the venue an instant favourite.
