Every Leodensian, who has entered into town in December will have the image of the Christmas lights above Briggate seared into their core memories. The stark contrast of dark skies, and gentle downward slope of colourful lights, warm the soul as well as triggering a particularly festive flavour of civic pride. It makes sense then to use this seasonal vista as a backdrop for a wintery artisanal market. Every Sunday in the lead up to the big day the street will be taken over with the best makers, bakers, jewellers and crafts people the city has to offer.

Now part of the official Leeds Christmas Markets, these stalls are curated by market organisers Little Bird. As a company that specialises in finding truly unique and one off producers, you can expect extremely high quality products made by experts in their field. Alongside the typical artisanal coffee, baked goods and beauty products there are a couple of hidden gems such as a stall selling hand carved wooden pens, highly fashionable dog harnesses and Alpaca wool knitwear.

Whether you’re looking for some jewellery to make you the talk of the Christmas party, or trying to find a bespoke gift for a loved one with highly refined taste, the markets will provide. Everything on sale is handmade and individual from the art and prints to the delicious hot food that you can enjoy whilst looking round.
