In a city well known for its live music, it isn’t surprising that you’re able to find gigs of all kinds every night of the week. However, there is nothing quite like sinking into a cosy armchair as a group of jazz players playfully interweave solos, melodies and sometimes more experimental sounds. We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to jazz in Manchester, a city filled with ensembles and individuals doing things for themselves in an old school DIY way, while also attracting respected artists from across the UK and abroad.
