Creative Tourist and BBC North

BBC North Internal Communications team has worked with Creative Tourist to deliver the Urban Insider city guide, the Cultural Calendar and a series of after-work socials.  The series so far has included a night with the dinosaurs; pizza, beer and film quiz; football; science-experiments, theatre nights and the war museum – and hundreds of you have come out to meet each other, enjoy a drink and a chat and find out what’s available in the city’s museums and galleries. If you haven’t joined us yet, then below is you last chance (at least for now!)

BBCNorth Social: It’s A Celebration

Well folks, this is the last of the current series of after-work socials. After a year of relocations and new beginnings we thought it would be nice to round it all off with a bit of a do Manchester-style.

The stylish Whitworth Art Gallery will stay open for one of its special After Hours events, exclusively for BBC staff, friends and families.

Join us from 5.30 -9.30pm for a range of activities linked to the collections and exhibitions, or just hang-out and enjoy a beer or two in a great venue where you can join in as much or as little as you like.

There will be a pay bar; the cafe will stay open for supper (kids eat for around £6 and adults for around £8) and some great activities

6-7: There will be some art and craft activities (not just for the kids) and curator tours of the latest exhibitions

7-8: Lindy-hop with ‘Feets of Amazement’

8-9.30: chill out with music and a bit of retro swing

Cost: FREE

Reserve tickets: http://www.wegottickets.com/sct/h7mfGsrzdZ

Location: Whitworth Art Gallery, Oxford Road, Manchester (about a mile down the road from Cornerhouse)

Nearby: eat out afterward at Red Chilli, or check out Deaf Institute for a gig.
